2. Race Club Meeting v. 23 - 25.11.2007

Part I:

On Friday, 23.11. It was finally that second Race Club meeting was at the door. We had, however, wg. The rail strike that lasted almost half a year tremble to Wednesday night whether the train is now on strike or not. Wednesday evening, was Kristina, Steffi and I then breathe easier. Until Monday, it should be no first strike. What luck!

My brother took us at 8:30 Clock to Wittlich train station. Immediately afterwards came Kristina. We first have to laugh at our luggage. I myself only had a small suitcase, with the greatest need there and a backpack. Steffi had a hell of a large travel bag and also a backpack. Kristina and the same. But since you have nothing more to do inside. Since everything was packed. Clock went to 9:34 our train, which arrived on time.

We had reserved seats and therefore in each schedule with a four-seat table in the middle.

In Cologne, we had almost an hour stay. Just in time for lunch time we were there and we made a trip to Mc Doof. There was also some fun watching. ;-) Then we looked a little at a shop on the concourse around and then it was high time to go to the platform.

The trip was off to Hannover where we again had to change trains. Three hours of driving ahead of us stood. During the journey, we drank a bottle of champagne that Kristina had brought and also this train ride was nice and again there were some funny observations. I say only "service". ;-)

We found that the station in Hanover, is very beautiful. Everywhere on the platforms were elevators that we use. We also liked the great Christmas lights. In Hannover, we had no desire to look even more shops in the station because the wg. our luggage was pretty awkward anyway. We had not long to wait. The train to Soltau was already 10 minutes earlier. Unfortunately we had no reserved seats more. But this was not bad, so we found another four seats. After the conductor could not tell us that it was the right train, we asked a woman on the train, which we confirmed this but. We were able to train the last bit, then enjoy peace of mind. However, covered the 1 ½ hours in length, and really we were glad when we just before 6:30 the station Soltau finally reached.

Als wir dann vollständig waren, machten wir es uns bei uns im Zimmer gemütlich und erzählten uns noch bis ca. 1 Uhr Gruselgeschichten und jagten uns in Sachen „Fernsehman“ selbst noch etwas Angst ein. ;-) Bis wir irgendwann schließlich einschliefen.

 

24/11/2007 Club Meeting

The time flew by and it was already 21:00 clock and we were on to the bowling alley, located on the ground floor of the Karting Center. We had rented the car for two hours. Then we wanted to take a group photo. Below the middle of the kart track was an old formula 1 car that Ralf has driven times. Ingo allowed us to stroll on the kart track and as we were arriving at the car, we positioned ourselves around the car and made even more beautiful group photos.

Then we said goodbye to Ingo and it was time to go to the pension. Outside it was raining in torrents. Arriving at the inn, we set it at Marina and Ina in the room cozy. With 2 bottles of champagne, chocolates and salty snacks we let us go well.

From Hanover to Cologne we drove in an ICE. I must say I never thought that the train is 200 km / h would be fast. This one has not even notice. The brewery then we ate all the delicious lunch. The food was really good and cheap. Unfortunately it was true quality 15:30 clock and slowly we had to say goodbye again. Siggi drove straight from Lanstein from home and Siggi drove us to the station and went from there to the track. Mona's train was at 16:20 clock and my clock at 17:20. When Mona was away, Mel and I strolled a bit through the concourse and then drank at MC Donald's still a trifle before me Mel then took to the track and I had to adopt her too! :-( Mel was then a moment later picked up by her father!

short 13 clock Godi and I were in Lorsch. There was the "3-cities-game" taking place between the towns of Bensheim, Hepppenheim and Lorsch in the space between the Benedictine monastery and the town hall.

trip to Heidelberg, Heidelberg Castle tour

Shortly after 12 made Godi, Uncle George and I are on the way to the beautiful city of Heidelberg. We drove over the mountain Heppenheim road to Heidelberg. In Heidelberg, we were looking first for a while after a parking lot. We were then finally after a long search in a parking garage. From the car park we were soon in the old town. Comfortably we marched endlessly Heidelberger pedestrian zone along which already offered us a magnificent view of the castle.

It had rained from Monday to Tuesday most of the night and Tuesday it was still raining. In the morning we hung around in the cozy apartment. Afternoons are Godi and I do then to Heppenheim for some shopping and we wanted to again market place, so maybe I could take some pictures.

From the café, it also had a great view of the market place. Heppenheim is also ne real nice and best city.

05/16/2007 / trip to Mannheim

On the penultimate day, we were still in Mannheim . I did not until now that Mannheim is Bawu already. I always thought that Mannheim would still belong to RLP. Well, I've at least learned again what to do so. J

And already was my last day in Heppenheim come. How quickly the time passed again! Even this morning it was raining in torrents.

I had packed most of the night before in my suitcase. Just in time for lunch Simon and Eve should pick me up then. They were also there on time and Godi had a totally delicious food cooked. After dinner we chatted a bit and then it was already time for adoption.

Simon, Eva and I were on our way back. To 18 clock we were back home in Strohn.

I have really experienced a lot, even if I had seen you a bit more. As for the tw. bad weather was not possible. My Godi but has already said that I should then another year come on, we would make up for everything. Very happy, I say as only. The Odenwald and the mountain road is very, very worth seeing. There are endless forests and beautiful half-timbered buildings. I love half-timbered houses!
